This is me totally slacking on red for the color rotation. Like I said, red is scary for me. It's bright, it's attention grabbing. Those are two scary things for me. I mitigated the fear of red by opting for this almost ruby colored scarf.
All my planned outfits have been ruined by weather. It's been like walking out into a cloud most mornings - cold and wet. That's why I keep reaching for dark colors.
I shivered all through school. SHIVERED! And my students were all like, "Miss, no one here wears skirts because it's so cold." Which is not exactly true, but I understood where they were coming from. I just really don't like wearing pants.
Shivering it is.
I like the red scarf. I have a red pashmina.
ReplyDeleteI'm not afraid of red. I like the bold. I like how red looks on me. I like how red looks on you. I think it's a great color.
I think it's impossible to find dress pants these days that work even if you like wearing them. I have hunted for a few pairs for months with nothing that I could even have altered to fit me properly. I love the red scarf! How are you keeping your curls so in tact and gorgeous in all that humidity?
ReplyDelete@ Destrehan's Daughter - My curls actually like humidity, I think. Also, I wash my hair about twice a week with natural products, which helps cut down on the frizz factor.
ReplyDeleteAre you against tights? It's the only way I wear skirts in the winter--and I LOVE tights! I love the feel. Maybe that makes me odd...
ReplyDeleteFrom a guy perspective, I gotta say I think you ROCK! First, feminists rock. Women who think it's great to be a woman are the best. Second, femininity also rocks. I love that you wrote that you disagree with those feminists who make out that it's antifeminist to have an interest in clothes and looking your best. On the contrary I woould argue that those who set oout to belittle such pastimes because they're traditionally feminine are themselves the mysogenists. Finally, I love that you live out that philosophy by loving skirts and dresses and hating pants, to the extent that you would rather be cold in a skirt than warm in pants. That's what I call a real woman, proud of her gender :-)
