Late

Tee: Target
Cardigan: Ann Taylor
Skirt: Gap
Belt: Target
Booties: Aldo
Scarf: H&M
Earrings: Turkey

I wore this outfit on the 4th of March for teaching. I'm just that far behind in posting. Some days there's just not enough time in restaurant parking lots for posting.

Anyway, I got this skirt at Gap in Puerto Rico. I don't know if I already told this story, but I got it for $3.95. Actually, my aunt got it for me for that price. It's quickly become a staple in my wardrobe. So much so, that when I wore it yesterday, I realized that it didn't really fit anymore.

So here are some of the lessons I'm learning as I'm living and working in this area and with my new financial limitations:

1. It's hard to get denim to shrink back to size without a dryer. (Yes, I hang my clothes out on a line.)

2. Heels are no match for gravel. They're totally fine on grass and asphalt, but a nightmare on gravel, for real.

3. Stomach issues and eating the same thing over and over (meaning you get tired of it and don't want to eat it anymore) cause a person to lose enough weight to ensure that nothing fits her properly anymore. And that's not a good thing.

4. The possibilities for remixing are endless.

  1. Okay, please eat. Seriously. We don't want you wasting away to nothing! We kind of like you!

I'm sorry internet has been so hard to get for you. I really hope you're having a good experience otherwise. You look adorable, if that helps! The scarf is the perfect accessory and I love the booties!

  2. Oh Frances, I did notice right away that you've lost some weight, I hope you stay strong and finish this work soon, how long do you plan on staying there? You look grat though and your skirt is very nice. =)

  3. Oh man, can I identify with some of these lessons learned! Before moving to Mexico, I wore heels almost every day. I love my shoes. When I packed, only two pairs of wedges made the cut. Everything else? Sandals. I never wear the wedges. It's either sand or cobblestone here - no bueno!

  5. I get just as excited as the next gal when I shed some pounds, but that is the one thing I hate about it. Some of your clothes that flatter you at the previous weight just get baggy and weird even when you lose just a few pounds. Then you go get new stuff, and end up regaining the pounds. Never satisfied, haha!

Sometimes I get sick of denim skirts (I'm a Pentecostal Christian, they're practically our symbol haha!) but every once in a while, like now, I get re-inspired by how versatile they can be! I really like the color of yours, Gap has great ones I've thrifted. Awesome look!

  6. I didn't blog my March 4 outfit yet so don't feel bad. (I also have a week in January that I skipped but I really want to post because I was out of my comfort zone but now it feels like it is too old.)
