Boho

Tunic: Banana Republic
Jeans: Costa Blanca (thrifted)
Cami: Target
Wedges: Toms
Earrings: Turkey
Scarf: gift from my mom

In case you couldn't tell, I built this look around my new-to-me jeans. I mean, I've seen similar pairs online for way more than I ever want to spend on jeans, and I scored these for $4 at a thrift store.

I generally think this silhouette is (a) a bit too reminiscent of mid-nineties Frances Joy and (b) a little too much for my height, but I wanted to try the trend and these jeans make my butt look good. That's important.

I decided I wanted to wear these jeans with a flowy top and some heels. I chose this tunic because I haven't worn it in a while and it went well with my Tom's. The Tom's are important because I had to walk to work and they are ridiculously comfortable.

More comfortable than my jeans. Sigh. Stupid jeans. You do NOT beat skirts in my world of comfort.

Headscarves, however, are always a win.

P.S. This scarf is all kinds of tacky. It's got pictures of Venetian landmarks on it. I can't figure out of my mom actually bought it while we were there (doubtful) or if someone gave it to her. Either way, I love it.

  3. I didn't see the tacky part on the scarf. I do like how you styled it. And I love that pop of color.

  4. I like the shape of the jeans. If you wanted to update them to resemble the 70s flares that are popular now, I would try dying them a darker blue. If they were only $4 and you don't love them, there isn't much to lose.

  8. I hid the tacky well. I knew the colors were great and no one really NEEDED to see the Rialto bridge that's on the scarf if I'm wearing it right.

  9. You know, I do have some navy blue dye sitting around for a sunny afternoon off.... I might try it.

  10. They're the only Tom's I own, and they're comfortable enough that I can do a ten minute walk either to or from work in them. And I live in the mountains of Costa Rica, so it's not an easy walk. I totally recommend them.

  13. I think the only way for me to find jeans that fit is to find them second hand. It's the weirdest thing!
