Classics

Shirt: Target
Jeans: 7 for all Mankind (thrifted)
Booties: Aldo
Earrings: Turkey

This is an outfit I've been dreaming of wearing for the longest. Is it earth shatteringly creative? Nope. Is it new and exciting? Also no. Is it classic? Yes.

For some reason, it's the classics that give me a hard time. Good jeans are hard to find for me - somewhere between my waist and my booty, and my thighs, it all makes me crazy and I give up. But these worked out. Are they my most comfortable jeans? No; they're a little too low rise for that. But they do work.

And then we've got the white button-up. Y'all know these are not made for women larger than a B cup, right? But B and I wandered into Target while we were in the States and I found this shirt on the clearance rack. The second button buttoned, so it was a go. It's still a bit loose elsewhere, especially tied this way, but I think that's fixable.

So, while this might be as classic as they come, it wasn't the most effortless look. Am I the only one who has the hardest time ever finding jeans and button ups? Someone let me know I'm not alone....

  1. Oh man, that's the thing about classics! I have been searching for a white button-front shirt for what feels like forever, but I just can't find one that fits my body and fits my (I thought) simple requirements. Maybe tailoring is the answer? (Or self-tailoring, for the broke folks among us?) You're working these basics pretty well, though, so more power to you. :)

(I have the HARDEST time finding jeans, for sure! Either they gap at the waist or my thighs look like sausages. Urgh.)

  2. Those jeans look great on you! Kudos. Jeans are impossible. I've actually just accepted the fact that I will never find I pair I like at a price I'm willing to pay. Sad times.

I too, have the hardest time finding button-ups that work! Usually I wear a cami underneath and leave the top few buttons open, but that definitely changes the whole look.

  5. I adore classic outfits like this, but I bet you already know that. :) I actually don't have a problem finding button downs, but I tend to go for oversized ones. I love the boxy shape! Jeans...now that I understand. Shopping for jeans has brought me to tears before - no joke - and I am not much of a cryer! Those jeans look AMAZING on you!
