What I've got

Tee: Gap
Skirt: Gap
Belt: Target
Scarf: J Crew
Booties: Aldo
Watch: Coleman via Target
Bracelet: Banana Republic
Earrings: Turkey
Sassy face: in response to B being a smart aleck

This outfit is from last week. I am so. Stinkin'. Behind. But I loved this outfit, and I wanted to blog it. Pretend we're in a time warp, okay?

This shirt is how I know I've lost weight since I've been in Costa Rica. It used to be so tight that I could only wear it as a layering piece, and now it's totally doable for all the time. Also, this skirt falls off now - additional evidence that I need to eat more sandwiches.

I won't lie to y'all: sometimes I get frustrated with my two and a half suitcase wardrobe (including sleepwear, unders, outerwear, and work out gear). We don't really have a budget for clothing right now, and I can't justify buying anything when we're so tight on money as it is. So, there's that. This is what I've got. Yeah, my mom gave me some of her stuff when she was here and she even brought me some new stuff, but this is what I've got.

Some days it's easier to work with what I've got than others, but it's how I roll, how I'm rolling.

Any styling advice, however, is more than welcome.

  1. I think you are doing a wonderful job at styling the outfits and the truth is because we blog sometimes we have the feeling that a bit of clothes is not enough, we need to have more but that's not always the case. You look cute and girl all the weight you loose I'll gain, good thing that there's always the summer to get back in shape for me. =S
    You look great!

  3. What you've got is lovely and it's all about creativity. I think you're doing a good job so far, love the scarf and the belt and those shoes are hot! I think it's great to remix what you have and wear it in a completely different way than you usually would. Like unusual colour combinations or wearing maxi skirts as dresses, etc :)

  4. Yes! Exactly that. A lot of days I'm feeling a bit materialistic and a little uncool because I don't have the newest hot trend or because I didn't even know that something was the newest hot trend. But yes, I CAN do a lot with what I have here.

  6. Thanks so much! I'm working on the creativity part of it. I think there's a personal challenge in there somewhere - a creative layering week, perhaps?

  7. Wow! You sure get out some really awesome outfits with just two suitcases full of stuff. It's like your personal 30 for 30 (but will last way longer than 30 days). Are you like the best dressed person in your village? :)
