Do Re Mi

Y'all, I didn't do much blogging this weekend. I mean, I didn't even take my picture on Saturday. So here, I am, Monday night, with way too many outfits to post. I'm going to keep it short on text, but be prepared for picture overload.

Friday: All remixed
Jacket: Apt. 9 via Kohl's
Tee: Men's undershirt, DIY neckline
Jeans: Banana Republic
Flats: Target
Scarf: Turkey
Earrings: Turkey

I'm still pretty taken with this outfit. It was inspired by this outfit, and others that I've seen combining a casual top with a jacket. No, it's not an exact replica of Kendi's look, but it was INSPIRED by it.

Also, I'm calling those shoes pink. Pinkish at least. They count.

Sunday: All remixed except leggings
Dress: Target
Leggings: New York & Co.
Earrings: Turkey
Sandals: Chinese Laundry

This was a simple look for a day when I simply didn't feel like getting dressed. I know you ladies out there can sympathize. Sometimes you just don't get along with clothes and all you want to do is go to church in your pajamas. My remedy? A flowy dress and leggings. Ta da! Dressed and still comfy.

Kiku approves. That's always important.

Monday: jeans remixed
Tee: Target (super old)
Cardigan: vintage
Jeans: some random store in PR
Earrings: Banana Republic
Sandals: gift from aunt; Baker's in Puerto Rico

B said this outfit was very "fall"; I agree. I got that cardigan from a sale that B found on craigslist. They'd dumped tons (literally, tons) of vintage clothing in an old warehouse and you went in and dug through the piles, got whatever, and paid $5 an item. Most of the stuff was super dirty and nasty, and it was hard to see how it'd turn out after being washed, but this cardi turned out just fine. I was able to patch up a little hole in it, and it's good as new.

Also, I think I've had this tee since college. Y'all, that was five or six years ago. Oh, and I tried to give myself some wavy hair, which is why I look like a completely different person in these pictures. I'm trying to find a way to do waves without heat styling. When I figure it out, I'll let y'all know.

In case you don't already know how to straighten your hair without doing much heat styling, here's a good video (in Spanish, but you'll get the idea).

And about BBCA, I'm still doing it. I was proud of myself for doing a full seven days of pink. And I still have pink that I can wear, but I'm going to sprinkle it in throughout the month. Why? Because I get a little stuck in my own head doing challenges and then freak out in the mornings trying to get dressed. So yes, I'll still be trying to style all my pink, but I figure if I spread it out a bit more, I won't spend too many mornings crying as I stare at the closet. ;) In the meantime, check out Melissa and the other bloggers participating for some inspiration.
