Y'all, I'm exhausted. Why is the last week of classes so terribly, terribly long and awful? I feel like I've been going non-stop since last Thursday, and I'm not sure how much rest I'll be getting this weekend, what with the World Cup starting tomorrow. I've been waiting for this since 2006!
Anyway, on to the Black-Out outfit.
This particular combo was inspired by Rachel Berry. I may have been playing the season finale on Hulu while working the kinks out of my exams last night, and I switched windows when they were singing "To Sir, With Love". I caught a glimpse of Rachel Berry in that yellow shirt and navy cardigan (at 0:14) and thought, "I have to wear that tomorrow", so I did.
There are, of course, some differences. For one, this shirt isn't too ruffly and it's too hot for a cardigan, so I went with this swing jacket. Since denim is a no-go at work, I pulled out this skirt, which is part of my birthday haul.
While I like the look of the whole outfit, I felt like I was fiddling with the waistband all day long and that I was constantly wishing for more fabric on the skirt. It's just a touch too short for me to feel really comfortable. I really wish I'd tried it on before buying it, but all I saw was the excellent price and the fact that I need a grey skirt. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure out what to do with the skirt.
I threw on these bangles because they were sitting on my dresser and I like them with the top half of my outfit. I think they're a bit unexpected with the grey of the skirt, but I think it worked overall.

ReplyDeleteOh, YES! I <3 Emma Pillsbury's outfits, but I don't usually think, I have that in my closet. I need to remedy that....
