Summer Black-Out: Day 1

Vintage checkered shift: Thrush via Etsy (remixed)
Black embellished belt: Target (remixed)
Blue bolero: Ann Taylor (remixed)
Navy suede peep toes: Nine West (remixed)
Silver cuff: gift from my mom
Silver bubble hoops: gift from my mom (remixed)

I am participating in the Summer Black-Out, proposed by Sal of Already Pretty. I was going to go all the way with it and skip the black accessories, but I am lame and I overslept this morning and grabbed a black belt.

We'll see, though, because I think I might be able to work without black accessories for the rest of the week.

I don't know if I loved this outfit today, but it got the job done. I do, however, love the jewelry. Thesilver cuff and the hoops were gifts from my mother - part of my birthday haul. I tell you, my mother went crazy this year.

The collar on this dress is just wonderful. Isn't that adorable?!

Alright, so I don't have a lot to say about this outfit, mostly because I'm still exhausted from the weekend. It was quite a whirlwind with the travel, my birthday, the reunion, and church, so I didn't get much sleep. Tonight I've got some review packets to work on, so I'll be up late again. Only four more teaching days, then three days of exams and two days without students. Yay! The end is in sight!

I'm hoping tomorrow is better as far as my level of creativity with the Black-Out but I will confess that it's quite a challenge; my sister just sent me the most fabulous LBD and I am itching to wear it. As B. said, though, it'll still be mine on Saturday.

Also, on an unrelated note, could I just say that the strapless dress from Saturday night is probably the only strapless dress I feel comfortable wearing. It comes up pretty high and it doesn't shift around. Thank you, J Crew.
