Summer Black-Out: Day 5

Blue shirt dress: Ann Taylor (remixed)
Grey flower belt: J Crew (remixed)
Purple flower flats: Target (remixed)
Stone bracelet: gift from mom (remixed)
Blue and green earrings: New York & Co. (remixed)

I just realized I have worn every part of this outfit before, which is just crazy to me... I don't know why...

I'd like to give myself a big pat on the back for not wearing black this week, especially when I have a new (GORGEOUS) black dress just itching to be worn.

I knew I wanted to wear this dress this week because the other teacher who owns it wore hers last week. I wasn't sure how I'd style it differently, though. That's the thing about crazy bright dresses - there's only so much you can do with them to make them look really different from one outfit to the next. I decided the easiest thing to do was to play with the belt.

My original plan was to wear a turquoise belt, but as I was getting my belt out of the closet, I thought that this flower might be the perfect addition to such a feminine piece. It threw off my plans to wear an outfit without neutrals, but I think I'm okay with that. I feel like I totally embraced the frillyness of this dress with the belt and the shoes.

I cannot say enough good things about these shoes. Seriously, they don't feel like Target shoes at all. They are soooo comfortable and adorbs.

I finished the whole look off with the bracelet and earrings which are delicate without being too frou frou.

Not a bad look for the last teaching day of the school year and the first day of the World Cup. :) Let the games begin!

  1. SO cute, and I love those shoes!! I have a major problem with Target shoes - the 8 is too big and the 7.5 is too small. Grrr. So, I tried this exact pair of shoes on like 6 times trying to make it fit. It never did. :-/

But it looks great on you with this dress! LOL.
