Triple time

Alright, I'm back from a weekend in lovely VA, and I've got quite a few pictures to share.

First up, Friday's outfit, which I'd title "Would you like fries with that?" if I were posting it alone:

Buffalo plaid top: thrifted; available here.
Black pencil skirt: Gap (remixed)
Yellow flats: SE Boutique (remixed)
Black belt: came with a blazer from Kohl's (remixed)
Black beaded bracelet: gift from my uncle
Elephant earrings: Kohl's (remixed)

I felt a little self conscious in this outfit, but I love, love, love that top. It's silky and funky and fun.

So what if it looks like I should be taking your order at a retro diner?

Now, on to Saturday.

Orange faux wrap dress: Banana Republic
Teal tank: Old Navy
Yellow gladiator sandals: Chinese Laundry via Ross
Elephant earrings: Kohl's (remixed endlessly)

This was not my original outfit. No, I came up from the basement on Saturday morning wearing a vintage Mexican-style peasant top, a skirt, and some flip flops. Then I saw my mom, turned around, and changed because my mom was wearing this:

Yeah, we'd have been twins, and that's not cute.

And for Mothers' Day:

On me:
Denim dress: Ann Taylor
Ruffled cardi: Ann Taylor (borrowed from my mom's closet)
Yellow printed infinity scarf: J Crew
Silver and turquoise bracelet: Chaps (gift from my mom)
Silver hoops: gift from my mom
Wedges: ? borrowed from my mom

On my mom:
Dove grey dress: J Crew
Ruffly cardigan: J Crew
Silver flower cuff: Ann Taylor
Black pearl earrings: gift from my grandparents
Black patent pumps: ?

I love my mamita. She is so often my style inspiration, and though we're quite different when it comes to styling pieces, we're often attracted to the same items. We've both got pretty classic styles, and I swear she's the reason I'm as well-dressed as I am. My mom is all kinds of classy and stylish.

Here we are pretending to fight.

Here, my mom shows off the pockets on her dress (jealous) while I teach her about not looking at the camera.

Here, she braves the glaring sunlight while I avert my eyes. How cute are we, though?

I love that woman.
¡Te quiero mucho, mucho, mucho, mamita linda!

Happy Mothers' Day!

  1. Your mom is awesome! I love that you both put on the same outfit. She's so fashionable, it's easy to see where you get it from!

  2. She is a fashionable lady. She saw me in the shirt that was almost exactly like hers and said, "You have to change". And then we cracked up. How does that happens when we live so far apart?!
